You remember the lovely Hailey & Jin, right? Well, they had a lovely cultural afternoon wedding at Chapel Dulcinea that I attended not only as a photographer but also as a friend, and it was spectacular! Hailey is Chinese and grew up in Vietnam, while Jin is Korean. They wore traditional Korean dress for the ceremony then changed into something a little more comfortable for the reception. I absolutely love the purple. Make sure to notice the purple runner at the chapel as well – gorgeous! This just goes to show a simple, afternoon wedding can be just as gorgeous as any evening black tie affair…and I guarantee there was as much or more heart and love there this day than any 100+ person wedding I’ve been to. Hailey & Jin, you are not only blessed to have each other but to have so many wonderful family & friends who love you so very much! Congratulations and thank you for letting me capture your wedding day!
Craig and Macee have been together eight years, so when we found out he (finally) popped the question – we were thrilled! They vacationed in Bachelors Gulch just outside Avon, CO last year and decided it would be the perfect place for the wedding. Unfortunately, the little chapel they had their hearts set on was unavailable, but I think their second choice of the Skiers Bridge at the Ritz-Carlton was a beautiful alternative! With only family and close friends in attendance, they had a very intimate and heartfelt ceremony overlooking the mountains. Macee’s dad and son walked her down the aisle (it took a minute for them to come outside, and at one point Craig wondered if she had changed her mind…). Craig’s brother officiated the ceremony and his dad was his best man. Macee’s little sister Sarah was her Maid of Honor and her older sister Lindsay read a bible verse and a beautiful poem (Blessing of the Hands) which brought everyone – including me – to tears.
The reception was a lot of fun. I can honestly say it was one of the best dance parties ever – and I’ve been to a lot of weddings! Please note – the woman in black pants at the reception is my mother, and my husband is the one doing the worm…needless to say, things got a little crazy!
Congrats Macee & Craig – I’m so happy for you both, and am glad to have Craig as part of the family!
You may remember Lauren and Scott from their engagement or family sessions a while back . They are dear friends and I couldn’t have been more happy to photograph their wedding for them. The ceremony was at St. John Neumann here in Austin and it is one of the prettiest churches I’ve seen. There were a few times during the ceremony where I was blinking back tears – Lauren and Scott had a special necklace that they presented to Lauren’s daughter, Abbey, and took a moment during the recessional to remember Scott’s dear father. After the ceremony we took a trip to the Capital grounds for a few photos before heading to the reception at the Stephen F. Austin hotel. A few of my have moments of the day included the first kiss complete with a dip, Lauren, Scott & Abbey’s first dance together, Scott’s sister’s touching toast to the new couple, and of course the send off – complete with bubbles and crossdressing dead bridesmaids in blue. Only in Austin…
Congrats you guys!! Also, thanks so much to Carli & John for assisting me on this one!
You may remember Erin & Chris from their lovely San Marcos Engagement session, and if you missed it here are Erin’s Bridals. I knew this was going to be a wonderful day – not only because of how much I adore these two, but also because Erin and her bridesmaids were all reciting lines from the Princess Bride right before the ceremony began. Also, the weather that day was unbelievable. It was raining and very overcast until about an hour before the ceremony, then the sun came out and it was gorgeous! I’m going to call that a sign of many happy years to come.
Chris’s grandfather officiated the ceremony which made it even more personal and touching. I will never forget the love in Chris’s eyes as he saw Erin walking down that aisle toward him – it took my breath away.
Chris & Erin, I’m so happy for both of you and your families. Thank you again for choosing us to share your special day. **Special thanks to Matthew Johnson for second shooting this gorgeous wedding with me!!**
